About
Dr Chan is the Medical Director and Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist at Ascend Eye Clinic.
He has international clinical experience caring for patients with complex eye diseases and has gained speciality expertise during his times at McGill University and Moorfields Eye Hospital London. As the Medical Director of Ascend Eye Clinic, Dr Chan is well-equipped with vast experience in performing cataract and vitreoretinal surgery procedures, having successfully completed numerous surgeries to date.
Awards
Dr Chan has been recognized with several honors, including the Asia-Pacific Vitreoretinal Society Best Paper Award, the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute Fellows Research Award, and the World Glaucoma Association Travel Award.
Membership
Dr Chan is one of the few Singaporean Ophthalmologist who holds Fellowship affiliations in Ophthalmology with all specialist Colleges in Singapore, UK and Canada.
He was awarded with Royal College of Ophthalmologist (UK), Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow and Canada), and Academy of Medicine Singapore.
He is also a member of American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialist, Vitrectomy-Buckle Society, and European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
Paper Published
Dr Chan has authored more than 40 academic articles in textbooks and peer-reviewed journals. He has been highly active in research, contributing as a clinical trial investigator of new treatments for eye diseases, and as a reviewer for leading Ophthalmology journals. Dr Chan has delivered several talks and presentations at international and regional Ophthalmology conferences on topics in cataract surgery, lens implants, and retinal disease management.
